The Office of Economic Development works to engage university faculty with entrepreneurs, small businesses, and business development leaders to support regional entrepreneurship and business initiatives. Virginia Tech's services to entrepreneurs include technical assistance for new product development, and business development services such as market analysis and networking opportunities.
The Kauffman Project
OED researched the entrepreneurial climate of the Roanoke-Blacksburg region in a one-year research project funded by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. The study focused on how the entrepreneurial climate works in communities such as Roanoke/Blacksburg, a mix of urban and rural.
The Catalyst program connects businesses and other organizations with Virginia Tech's resources and researchers in order to develop innovative solutions to problems.
